Natural Herbs to Make You Sleep

on Tuesday, May 10, 2011

Are you one of the 70 million Americans who can't get a good night of sleep? Are you exhausted, but can't get to sleep, or wake up in the night? Well there are causes, even for things like restless leg syndrome.

For many people, the cause is simply too much stress. This is because your body produces a hormone called cortical, which keeps you awake. So, if you're mind is racing and you seem to be wide awake and alert even though you are exhausted you may want to try a mix of herbs that can lower cortical levels before bed.

A product called Sleep Tonight contains herbs like ashwaganda, magnolia, L-thiamine, and others that will lower cortical levels.

There are 5 herbs that can put you to bed. These are valerian (a small percentage of people will be woken up by this), passion flower, wild lettuce, Jamaican dog wood, and theanine.

Calcium and magnesium powder can absorb quickly and are good to take before bed. Three tenths of a milligram of melatonin is also helpful (higher doses aren't more effective and may not be safe). Other problems can be drinking coffee later in the day, or exercise later in the day.

One funny trick is a lavender pillow. Lavender is an herb which helps you sleep through the night simple by the pleasant smell it gives off.

For those who are exhausted, can't sleep, have widespread aches, or brain fog then you may want to look into fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome treatments. There are many great natural treatments for these too.

Watch out for drugs; some are simply over priced, dangerous rip offs of the natural treatments.

If you have restless leg syndrome, don't waste your money on the drugs, treat the iron deficiency that causes it.

When you get good sleep, your immune system will skyrocket and so will your energy. If you don't, you will likely have health problems.
