Natural Healing Herbs - Dieretic

on Saturday, May 14, 2011

Dieretic is the other word for ulcerated. There are many types of ulcerations; gastrointestinal ulcerations & skin ulcerations are very common. Ulcerations like other common diseases can be easily cured by herbal medications. The best of all herbs that can cure ulcers is comfrey. All the other herbs that you have heard of are good but need other few herb mixtures to be as effective. Here below are a few examples that could be of real help.

Ulcerative colitis: To get rid of diarreah, bloody stools, pain, inflammation and with wild yam, psyllium husk, cat's claw concentrate, garlic extract, red clover, glucosamine sulfate, quercetin & slippery elm.

Peptic ulcer: Those people having unhealthy eating habits and have ingestion of heavy food, excessive alcohol intake and smoking habits are mostly the people who suffer from peptic ulcer. Infections such as septicaemia & influenza, and toxins like gout & uremia are some of the main reasons of ulcers & gastritis. The stomach has a mucous membrane and when it gets blocked and there is a collection of acids that gives birth to ulcers or wounds. The ulcer's size varies from one-forth inch to one inch in diameter.

Dizziness, eructation, appetite loss & nausea are a few symptoms. As acidity increases in your body so does the feeling of a burning sensation and can lead to stomach pain. Relief comes in the form of mild meal ingestion, but the intake of spices can take matters of out hand. When the disease makes its presence felt in the body then things like body weakening, mental tension, flatulence, bad temper and insomnia start overtaking the body.

If this all goes too far then complications as serious as complications like perforation, hemorrhage and obstruction of sphincters might occur. If the disease is not traced within reasonable time bleeding may take place and cause death. It is advised to relive oneself of fried & seasonal foods as well as spices. Alcohol too is a complete no-no.

Cream, buttered milk, milk, boiled veggies and fruits are high recommended. Among fruits mangoes, banana, dates and muskmelon are good. Herbs like Cat's claw, licorice, cracked chlorella algae; slippery elm, marshmallow root & alfalfa are good for peptic ulcer patients. Different gourd types are to be boiled sans their rind as rind can cause friction within stomach. Not less than 1 to 1 ½ liters of water should be consumed in an entire day. Any kind of constipation should be dealt with immediately or it might create a bad condition. Herbs like apple pectin, extract of una de gato, Oregon grape root, Mexican wild yam should be put in use.

Fasting is not recommended for ulcer patients and neither should there be long gaps in consuming solid substance and stress should be avoided at all cost. Incase of not taking proper care perforation can happen which means that there are clear indications towards the approaching of death. Therefore a change in food habits and intake of medicines will not be enough living habits and lifestyles also need an overhaul for peptic ulcers.

How To Use Natural Herbs For Healing

on Sunday, April 17, 2011

With cold and flu season coming up, many of us would benefit from using a vapor bath to help open the sinuses and facial pores. To start, place the herbal mixture you have chosen into a pot of boiling water and let it steep (covered) for about 10 minutes.

Make a tent with a towel over your face and neck and put your face down over the uncovered pot. Be careful; you certainly don't want to get scalded! If the steam is too hot, you can wait a short time and try again or add some cold water. Breathe deeply and enjoy!

Adding herbs to your bath water can be therapeutic. Make sure the bath is warm enough to be comfortable (somewhere around 90 degrees is recommended). You can choose sea salt, herbs, or a combination of the two. If you would like to add herbs, one way to introduce them to the water is to hang tea bags under the spout as the water fills up the tub. Herbs can also be added to water for a refreshing foot bath.

When using herbs, it is important to educate yourself about the different properties associated with different kinds, to ensure that you will get the benefit you are seeking from whatever herb or combination you choose. Check that the herbs you choose are pesticide free. Be sure that you are using natural products in a safe manner; some of them are safe to be used on the skin but will cause illness (or worse) if ingested. In the beginning, it would be prudent to experiment with just one herb at a time. If you have an adverse reaction, you will at least know which type of herb you are allergic to.

When starting out, a good choice is to work with the Aloe Vera plant. Known as the "healing plant", the juice from the leaves of the Aloe Vera can be applied to any kind of skin condition. It is especially useful to take the sting out of burns including sunburns.

These hardy plants can be grown at home by even the brownest thumb. They are very easy to use: simply peel off one of the leaves from the base of the plant and tear or cut it open. It's the "juice" inside that you will want to apply to your skin. The most convenient way to accomplish this is to simply squeeze it directly onto the skin irritation. No special preparation is required and the stinging will stop very quickly. The properties contained in Aloe Vera also help the skin heal quickly.

As you get to know more about herbs, you will be able to add to your repertoire of applications for them. Perhaps you will start your own herb garden!
